Co-Lyophilized Vial Reconstitution Reference

When preparing co-lyophilized vials containing two distinct peptides in fixed ratios, dose calculations must reflect individual compound concentration - not total powder mass.

01
Add Diluent

Introduce 2.0 mL of bacteriostatic 0.9% benzyl alcohol water slowly down the vial wall. Do not agitate - gently swirl.

02
Calculate Concentration

5 mg BPC-157 / 2.0 mL = 2.5 mg/mL (each compound). Per 0.1 mL drawn = 250 mcg of each compound.

03
Draw on U-100

Draw to the 10-unit mark (0.10 mL) = 250 mcg BPC-157 + 250 mcg TB-500 simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions

A peptide blend refers to two or more active peptides freeze-dried (co-lyophilized) together within the same vial by a 503A/503B compounding pharmacy. A peptide stack refers to administering individual compounds from separate vials on a coordinated schedule. Blends simplify administration but fix the ratio; stacks allow independent dose titration of each compound.

When two peptides are co-lyophilized (e.g. 5mg BPC-157 + 5mg TB-500 = 10mg total) and reconstituted with 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water, each compound is present at 2.5 mg/mL. Drawing 0.10 mL (10 units on a U-100 syringe) delivers 250 mcg of each compound simultaneously. Always calculate based on a single compound concentration since the ratio in the vial is fixed.

Tandem drawing is common practice to avoid multiple injections. Requirements: both solutions must use bacteriostatic water as diluent, both should have compatible neutral pH (6.5-7.5), and the combined volume should be injected immediately - not stored pre-mixed in a plastic syringe barrel.

503A compounding pharmacies co-formulate GLP-1 agonists with B-vitamins (B12 or B3) for two reasons: (1) Caloric restriction from incretin agonism causes fatigue and nausea - B-vitamins support energy metabolism and GI comfort. (2) Co-formulation with a vitamin creates a medically individualized prescription that satisfies 503A compounding requirements.

Reconstituted peptide blend vials must be refrigerated at 2-8 degrees C (36-46 degrees F), protected from light, and never frozen. The 0.9% benzyl alcohol preservative in bacteriostatic water maintains stability for 28-35 days.
